Southern Stars Symphonic Brass Band Announces 2018-19 Season

The Southern Stars Symphonic Brass (SSSB) are announcing their 2018/2019 Crossville Concert Series and that tickets for these concerts are now available at their ticket outlets.

“This is the 11th season for this 30-musician, professional instrumental music ensemble and we will continue to provide our brand of Premium Entertainment,” said Dwight Wages, founder and President of this group.

“We capped off our 10th anniversary season with a sold-out Mainstage concert at The Cumberland County Playhouse this past May which received an outstanding response from the audience, and patrons can expect a continuation of high quality this season.”

The opening concert is themed as “SOUSA FEST” and will feature a program with several selections written by John Philip Sousa, to be performed in the manner that Sousa’s Band did at the turn of the 20th century. This concert is at 3 pm on Sunday, Sept. 23.

The second concert is themed “A VALENTINE GIFT” as it will be presented the week of Valentine’s Day at 3 pm on Sunday, Feb. 10. Music selections will present a wide variety of music styles as the SSSB gift to you.

The last concert of the subscription series will be at 3 pm, Sunday, April 28 and the theme is “ACROSS THE POND.”
This concert will take the listener on a musical tour through Europe with selections associated with a variety of overseas countries.

All concerts are held at the 1200-seat auditorium of Stone Memorial High School.

Ticket prices have been unchanged for several years and continue to be an outstanding value for a group of this quality and reputation. Single concert tickets are $22 for Adults, and $5 for students and a season ticket for all three concerts is a significant saving of $50.

Season ticket purchasers receive seating in a reserved section and have the benefit of being able to exchange tickets for a concert they can not attend, and for an additional ticket for one of the other two concerts.

Ticket outlets are: 1) First National Bank of Tennessee branches in Fairfield Glade and Crossville, 2) On Its Way (UPS/FedEx location) in the Fairfield Glade Village Mall, and 3) Bed & Biscuit Kennel located just off of Peavine Road.

As an extra incentive, season tickets purchased by Sept.7, will qualify the purchaser to attend an “EARLY BIRD” reception on Sept. 14 where they will learn more about the concert season, enjoy refreshments, and have the chance to win their season tickets FREE, win free individual concert tickets, and SSSB CDs or DVDs.

Any questions concerning the coming concert season may direct their questions to Dwight Wages at 931-484-6939 or via email at dwight.wages@gmail.com.
