{"id":114,"date":"2010-09-13T23:36:35","date_gmt":"2010-09-13T23:36:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southernstarssymphonicbrass.com\/?p=114"},"modified":"2010-09-21T23:15:21","modified_gmt":"2010-09-21T23:15:21","slug":"20102011-season-announcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southernstarssymphonicbrass.com\/?p=114","title":{"rendered":"2010\/2011 Season Announcement !!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Southern Stars Symphonic Brass&#8217;s 2010\/2011 concert season has been finalized and it promises to continue to build on the excitement generated in prior years.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This is the 3rd full season of concerts and will include a concert in Knoxville, another in Cookeville, and the 3rd annual Crossville concert series.\u00a0 The band&#8217;s president &amp;\u00a0 founder, Dwight Wages had this to say.\u00a0 &#8220;Our upcoming season of concerts promises to be the best ever, and we have some terifically talented guest artists lined up to perform with the SSSB&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>**********************************<\/p>\n<p>The concert season kicks off with a <strong>concert in Knoxville<\/strong> on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 3pm which is hosted by the Cokesbury United Methodist Church at 9908 Kingston Pike.\u00a0\u00a0 The concert theme is <strong>Brass Spectacular<\/strong> and will include patriotic, marches, movie, Broadway, jazz\/big band swing and sacred hymn music which will please all ages.\u00a0\u00a0 Guest artists will be Steven Boyce, a tenor in the Knoxville Choral Society, and Danny Brian, renowned Knoxville organist. \u00a0\u00a0 <strong>See above article on this concert for more details.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ticket prices are:\u00a0 Adults &#8211;\u00a0 $18 (at door)\u00a0\u00a0 or\u00a0 $15 (advance purchase)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Students &#8211;\u00a0 $5 (same price for advance or at door).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <em>Doors will open 30 minutes prior to concert.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For information on tickets sales, call 931-484-6939, or email:\u00a0 dwight.wages@gmail.com<\/p>\n<p>***************************************<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> 3 concert series in Crossville,<\/strong> kicks off on Oct. 24, with the following concerts on Jan. 23, and April 3rd.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All these concerts will be at the beautiful Stone Memorial H.S. auditorium and will begin at 3:30 pm. (doors open 30 minutes prior to concert)\u00a0 <em>Each concert will feature 1-2 instrumental soloists from within the ranks of the SSSB.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>These concerts and their themes are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sunday, October 24 &#8230;&#8230;.<strong>Broadway Magic<\/strong>, with music from Broadway musicals.\u00a0 Guest Artist will be <strong>Nicole Begue (soprano)<\/strong>, Education Director and Leading Lady at the Cumberland Co.
