A Musical Experience Like No Other
The Southern Stars Brass Band is composed of 30 professional instrumental musicians from across Tennessee, including Crossville, Knoxville, Cookeville, Nashville, Murfreesboro, Tullahoma, and Clarksville, as well as Huntsville, Alabama. These talented musicians include university music professors, secondary music educators, and accomplished performers, all coming together to deliver an extraordinary symphonic brass concert under the direction of Dr. Steven Sudduth, who has led the ensemble for 15 seasons.
Over the years, the band has had members go onto win tenured, principal positions with professional symphony orchestras, win auditions and are now performing with premier United States Military Bands, and win scholarships for advanced degrees at the very best music schools in the world, including the famed Juilliard School.
