First Concert of the 2012-13 Season, Saturday, Sept. 8

SSSB Kicks off 2012-2013 Season with Virtuoso Brass

The Southern Stars Symphonic Brass kick off their 2012-2013 season—celebrating five years as a professional ensemble—with a program entitled Virtuoso Brass.  The concert will feature members of the Southern Stars in featured solos and ensembles accompanied by the full band.  Their virtuosity will support the concert title demonstrating truly Virtuoso Brass.

Under the baton of Dr. Steven Sudduth, this concert takes place on Saturday evening at 7:00 pm Central, in the beautiful 1200 seat auditorium of Stone Memorial High School.

The tentative program, from SSSB founder Dwight Wages, includes:

Carnival of Venice, by Arban, featuring guest trumpet soloist, Alex Wilborn
A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square, featuring Adam Featherston, trombone soloist

Single tickets are $20 for adult, and $5 for students/children. Tickets are available through the Cumberland County Playhouse either by walk-up, phoning 931-484-5000, or using the Playhouse’s online ticketing service.  A small service charge will apply for ticketing at the Playhouse.

Tickets are also available at Cumberland Eye Care in Fairfield Glade, First National Bank of Tennessee branches on Main Street in Crossville and the Fairfield Glade branch on Peavine Road, and at the Bed and Biscuit Kennel off of Peavine Road at 153 Fence Lane.

Season tickets are $45 for adults, and include this concert, plus upcoming concerts on Sunday, Feb. 17 featuring guest vocalist Jason Ross from the Cumberland County Playhouse, and the concert on April 20 featuring guest artist Pete Huttlinger from Nashville. Mr. Huttlinger is an acoustic guitar phenom you do not want to miss!  Check out Pete on YouTube to experience his tremendous talent.

For group sales inquires, please call SSSB Founder and President, Dwight Wages, at 931-484-6939.  With the purchase of a minimum of 10 tickets, the group rate will be $17/ticket………..and for every 10 tickets purchased……….we will give the group 1 FREE ticket.   These group tickets are only available through Mr. Wages.
