The theme for the first concert of the upcoming 19th Season of the Southern Stars Symphonic Brass Band will be “Brass from the Masters.”

The concert, slated for Sunday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. Central, the music selections are composed by true masters from a wide range of genres.

Compositions to be performed include those written by Holst, Billy Joel, Glenn Miller, Rossini, Berlioz… along with well-known pieces associated with brass instruments, including selections from the Tijuana Brass collections, Make His Praise Glorious, Scotland the Brave, Valdres March, and a medley of James Bond themes.
